Black Hens And Chicks is primarily valued in the home for its distinctive form, with the flower stalks towering over the foliage. It attractive succulent pointy leaves remain green in color with prominent burgundy tips and tinges of black throughout the year.
This is a dense herbaceous houseplant with tall flower stalks held atop a low mound of foliage. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other indoor plants with less refined foliage. This plant should not require much pruning, except when necessary to keep it looking its best.
